It’s been a long, long time…

Um, yeah. It’s been 16 days since my last post. I have pics. I have video. I have people asking me if everything is OK (no post *must* equal bad tidings, I guess). So, in order: (1) I’ll post Seths’ 5-week-old, 6-week-old, and 7-week-old pictures; (2) I’ll post the new video; (3) I’ll wrap up with whatever news, etc. that I have. Click “(more..)” to read the rest.

5 Weeks Old

We saw these overalls and just had to get them. They were the first “adult” clothing we put him in. We think he’s awfully cute in them. We’re hoping to get a picture of him and his maternal grandfather both in the overalls, together. If we do, I’ll put it up, here

6 Weeks Old

OK, I usually try to keep the pics down to 1 or 2, per set. However, I just couldn’t narrow it down that far. I love all three of these. The first one (left to right) was taken at my wife’s parents’ house. I never thought I’d go for those sports-themed clothes for my baby. Guess I was wrong. The onsie he is wearing in one of my favorite outfits of his.

The middle one is a great example of the range of emotions Seth now shows on his face. He smiles, a lot. My wife said he laughed, the other day. He’ll lock eyes with us. He mimics us — especially when we stick our tongue out at him.

In the last picture, Seth’s sitting with his cousin, Molly. She took this picture for her MySpace page. She’s very attached to the little guy. The day he was born, she drove quite a distance, just to come see him. It’s hard to see the jacket he’s wearing, but Molly made it. It’s based on a song from a band called, “My Chemical Romance”. The song’s title is, “Black Parade”. I guess she figures that, since they have the same birthday, they probably should share the same taste in music, too :)

7 Weeks Old

These two pictures are my first attempt at studio-type shots. I love the first one. It’s now the background on my computer. He has such a quiet — yet, intelligent — look on his face. It’s a perfect capture of his personality.

The second picture is not so great, but it shows something very important to us. We did not put Seth face-down on that blanket. He was actually on his stomach, with his face pointed toward the camera. Right before I took the picture, he decided to roll on to his back. The picture is the very first part of that roll.

The latest movie

My brother and sister-in-law bought Seth the greatest mobile. It has funky animals and colors and plays music selections by Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart. Since Seth had started noticing mobiles and other toys, recently, we thought we’d give this one a shot and see if he liked it. Since this was a first, for him, I decided to film it. This film shows some of his great interactions. I just gotta say it, again — he’s so cute.

News, etc.

The biggest news is that we had to take Seth to the hospital, last week. He’s ok, but he was having some breathing problems. We checked him in for about 24 hours while the staff made sure he was getting enough oxygen and wasn’t dehydrating. I’m glad to report that he’s breathing better and is no worse for the wear, due to the issues he was having. Oh, and the nurses LOVED him! He had no shortage of attention.

Seth has grown, quite a bit, too. If you remember, he was 6 pounds, 8 ounces when we brought him home. At 6 weeks, he weighed 10 pounds, 2.5 ounces. I’m going to have to start lifting weights just to carry him around.

I know that this post was a long time coming. Several people told me they kept checking the blog, only to find there was no post. Wouldn’t it be nice if people could receive some sort of notice that the blog’s been updated? Yes… yes, it would. I already have an RSS feed, for those of you that are news feed readers. For those that aren’t keen on using the RSS feed, I’m trying to come up with a way to deliver notices via email. Hopefully, I’ll have something, soon.

Well. I guess that’s it. Send me feedback, if you’re so inclined.

P.S. Hey, Molly! Is this enough of a ramble, for you?

Hahahaha! Yes, that was enough ramble for me :) I’m so glad that you put some of the pics I took up there. He is just darling in all of them! He looks like a two year old in that middle picture! OH, and I got you some cool stuff at yard sales this weekend. I got him a piano (awesome) and a leap pad drum and some more clothes and some other stuff that I can’t remember.

Great! You got him some stuff that makes lots of noise. I appreciate that, soooooooo much! :) Actually, we really do appreciate those gifts. We believe music is an integral part of a full life. I just hope he has his Mom’s patience when it comes to learning how to play.
