OK. So, the word “talk” may not be acurate. But, to us, he’s talking. Seth has become more interactive than ever. You can see in the video that he is very responsive to us. He loves to coo, gurgle, and scream (happily) at us. Especially, in the morning.
We took this video last Thursday morning. It shows just how happy he is when he first gets up. Barb says she wishes I were that happy, first thing. I’m more like a grizzly.
In addition to talking, he holds his head up, now. Especially when we hold him on our chest. He likes to look at who is holding him. He scoots more, during tummy time, as well.
We didn’t get a Week 9 picture, on Friday, though. Seth had his first set of immunizations on Friday and it took him until Sunday evening to cheer back up. I do have some pictures on my camera from Sunday night. I’ll try to get those downloaded and posted, tomorrow.
I just realized that this “ramblings” blog has become a “my kid is so cool” blog. I’ll try to start posting more thoughts, etc., if time allows. Any topic suggestions?

8 weeks… 8 weeks… It’s odd to say that. It feels like he’s always been around. Then again, it also feels as if he just now entered our lives.
Every day, Seth’s a new person. He does something he didn’t do yesterday. This week, he started grabbing at my beard. His hands are no longer permanently in fists and he’s grasping objects that are as small as my arm hair… because it is my arm hair (ouch).
Seth started day care, this week. That was one of the hardest moments for us. It was almost as hard as our hospital visit. At least at the hospital, we knew he still needed us — only us. We made it through the first week OK. He still smiles when he sees us. He still snuggles with us. He still needs us. And that’s good.
This week’s picture shows Seth’s really cute smile. We see a lot of that. I figure he’s smiling because he knows how silly it is that his clothes have the word, “baby” on them. Everybody knows what he is. He doesn’t need a label.

Um, yeah. It’s been 16 days since my last post. I have pics. I have video. I have people asking me if everything is OK (no post *must* equal bad tidings, I guess). So, in order: (1) I’ll post Seths’ 5-week-old, 6-week-old, and 7-week-old pictures; (2) I’ll post the new video; (3) I’ll wrap up with whatever news, etc. that I have. Grandma and Grandpa said that the last video didn’t show enough of Seth’s face. So, when he was smiling like crazy, earlier, I decided to record it for them. He actually giggled a couple of times, but that was before I started recording. I think that we are definitely beyond the “smiling means gas” phase…

My wife’s niece made a comment the other week that comes back to me every time I write a post. She said that this blog is mis-named. I never ramble on it. My posts are too short to be considered rambles. This is true. However, Schachter’s Briefs just doesn’t sound right.

I can’t believe it’s been a month! Well, 4 weeks, technically. The clothes that were too big on Seth are starting to be too small. His eyes are open a lot more. He smiles. We think we’ve heard a laugh, or two. The changes are incredible. Every day, we realize he’ll never be that age, again…

We gave Seth his first bath, last Sunday night. I just had to capture it for prosperity
My angle isn’t the best — either is the quality. I’m working on both. Anyway, it’s pretty darn cute, if I do say so, myself.
He’s had another bath, last night. He handled it, much better. And he didn’t pee on me, like he did Mommy.

I know I keep saying it, but Seth’s changing at an amazing rate. The first pic, above, I posted previously. But, I had to put it up, again, so that you can see the changes. These are about 17 days apart. He’s 1 day old in the first pic and 18 days old in the second.
I returned to work, this week. It was tough. I really didn’t want to leave him for a whole day, let alone 5 whole days. Good thing I’m off, again, next week.
I really need something else to write about. I’m wondering if those of you who have been checking out this blog are bored with baby-talk, yet
. Well, “Ga-Ga-Goo-Goo”, to you.

I can’t believe it’s been two weeks. Seth is doing great. Every morning, I’m surprised at how much he’s changed. I look at the pictures we’ve taken and compare them. He’s soooooooooooo different! His eyes are open, more, now. He reacts to Mommy and Daddy more. If I could just get over the diaper dumps…
The pic above is from this morning. Doesn’t he look just happy? I didn’t know it at the time, but he had just filled his diaper.

He’s now 11 day’s old and he’s been changing at a rapid pace. Seth weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces when we left the hospital on the 4th. As of this morning, he weighs 7 pounds, 3 ounces. I didn’t know babies grew that fast!
We see behavioral changes, too. His eyes are open a lot more. He’s more interactive. We even have a new game. He presses on my hand with his feet until his legs are straight. Then, he slightly relaxes his legs and I slowly push back until his knees are completely bent. Then, we repeat. I think he likes it. I know I do.
We had his bris, last Friday. I handled it well, as you can see in the pic above
